Review: Mercedes-Benz A Class 2013
For those of you who remember the previous The Mercedes-Benz A Class, which by the way had nothing wrong with it as a hatch, but didn’t exactly have an appeal nor the great design expected from the German manufacturer, you’re in for a big surprise. The 1 Series from BMW and the A3 from Audi and the Golf GTI from VW are also in for a big surprise, as the time has come for a very strong competitor to end their domination over the premium small hatchback category.
My first impressions when I saw this car was like: Hello Merc, as it certainly screams Mercedes-Benz beautiful design, with all the elegant, yet sportive elements you would expect from an AMG kit fitted car, I must say that Mercedes-Benz did a great job designing this car, but I can’t really say the same about the back, as it looks just normal and out-of-place if compared with the remaining beautiful lines of the car.

Theres no doubt in my mind that those of you who are interested in the car scene or even those who are just casual drivers have known or heard of Ford’s best selling SUV, the
This review will be covering the 5th generation 2013 Ford Explorer Sport, the top of the range model of the 4 Explorer’s available in Kuwait’s Ford dealership which are: (The Base Explorer, XLT Explorer, LIMITED Explorer and finally the one being reviewed today: the Explorer Sport).
I was invited to try the female-only lounge but couldn’t (
The Lounge which comfortably accommodates thirty female guests provides an outdoor private pool with Jacuzzi and dipping pool by the sea. The place is beautifully landscaped with plenty of greenery, and all the sun loungers you can ask for.
First thing that crossed my mind while I was there was why caffè instead of café? Later
We started out with the popular breakfast dish Orientale Prima Colozine which had two really crispy fried eggs with some labneh and halloum. Also comes with cucumber, olives and bread (available on the gallery). I like the combination, definitely the lightest breakfast meal I’ve had in a long time.
Litas, a Mexican restaurant recently opened again after it was closed for a year while there was heavy reconstruction going on where it was located. So I got invited to try the new menu. The place didn’t look appealing, you could mistake it for a shawerma place if not for the logo but the food was a whole different story.
The Breakfast Club’s first branch was in Fintas, they were open until 3p.m everday serving breakfast. They’ve now expanded and opened a new branch in Kuwait City a few weeks back, so I passed by to review the place now that they also serve dinner and lunch. I like how they somehow managed to have pancakes as main courses with heavy sauces.
Recently passed by Oishii to review their newly opened restaurant at Kuwait City. What I like about Oishii is the fact that it was a 100% Kuwaiti concept. it started out as a home delivery service If I’m not mistaken, the food was all home-made and they progressed to open a small restaurant. Moving a step ahead they’ve recently opened up next to
We started of with some Edamame and this Crunchy Salad, since I’m a fan of anything with a lot of sauce in general this salad was for me. We also had a Salmon and Avocado Salad available in the gallery at the bottom of the post. This salad had mixed lettuce, avocado and crisps. Also comes with crab but I asked them to have it removed. The salads are large so sharing is always an option.
When the Negi Miyaki arrived it seriously smelled like someone just served us a burger. To my surprise they even tasted like burgers, just in the form of sushi rolls. I guess they’d be nice if you were craving a burger at a Japanese restaurant. Since they are 8 pieces those are worth sharing as well, either that or have them as your main course because they’re pretty heavy on beef.
This is the first time I get Popcorn Shrimp with popcorn literally on the shrimp, they took the title to its core. I’m not sure what the sauce was but I think it came with honey sauce. An appetizer I would recommend if you order a sauce on the side. This appetizer is new and is exclusive to their Kuwait City branch, so are other dishes I’m reviewing like the Hammour Tepanyaki.
O Maki comes with shrimp tempura, carrot, avocado, sweet potato and a lot of sauce as you can tell. I normally like shrimp tempura sushi rolls, this one came with some chips to add more flavor which were crunchy but challenging, having to hold everything still using chopsticks.
The Hammour Tenpanyaki was undoubtedly my favorite dish, the fish is local and comes with mixed vegetables along with 3 different sauces. Before we knew it the fish was all gone, was cooked just the way I prefer it. Recommended for those who aren’t into sushi rolls but like fish. Overall a cosy place, cheerful staff and good food.

I passed by Marble Slab’s new location in Jabriya and I’m glad an ice cream store opened there having seen at least
I chose some vanilla ice cream, dark chocolate ice cream, some kinder bueno pieces, ferrero riacho pieces and digestive biscuits. They all get put together then with the metal equipment they squashed everything together. I went all-out chocolate but they also have healthy stuff like fruits to pick from. Usually I add cookies but I think there’s enough chocolate and biscuit already.
The manager gave me a tour around the place and to my surprise they have pizza ice cream. I think this one was the red velvet pizza, after you pick your pizza you add whatever you want on top of it. So in this case the red velvet is like the tomato of a pizza. These are great for big gatherings or birthdays. They also had ice cream cupcakes available in the gallery below.
