Kuwait’s Cyber Crime account has posted warnings about an organized team involving females targeting male Kuwaitis on skype. The girl gets to know the guy then asks him to talk a video of himself involving nudity (presumably in exchange for something) and then would blackmail him threatening to make the video public if he doesn’t send money. Alternatively, they could just ask people not to be stupid and send very private videos to girls then randomly just met on the internet.
A recent legal study showed there are two murder cases in Kuwait every day and 806 crimes in total committed yearly. What shocked more than the murder rate was the fact that the study has shown the majority of divorce cases in Kuwait included either kidnaping the children from one parent or murder. You can read the details of the study [here].
Jokes aside, this is one of the stores that made me blink twice when I had a quick road trip to Khafje (Saudi Arabia) to finish some banking paperwork. We also spotted Saudi Fried Chicken, which my friend tried and said wasn’t bad. Spotted a gaming store with Playstation 1 logo on it. It’s like this city and Kuwait are 10 years apart.
Unfortunately I now have to watermark my photos with this ugly spanning text but frankly I am fed up of news channels like KuwaitUPTODate stealing my photos or content pretending they’ve randomly found out about it, even worse sticking their logo on it as if they had authorized exclusive rights to it or they took it themselves (zero ethics).
Like when I posted about my friend meeting the staff behind the new bank note. Unsurprisingly it was up on his page hours later. Ironically he even mentioned who was who on the photo which was something that wasn’t mentioned on my friends instagram post (even if I were to give him the benefit of doubt). It was only written on my blog. Of course this isn’t the first time this has happened (I can list more) which is why i’m getting fed up of this unethical and unprofessional behavior, other channels are doing it too and for some reason it’s mostly Facebook Pages.
I have nothing against using my content or my photos, as long as there’s proper crediting with a link back to my blog. I know the owner of that page will be reading this which is why I’m writing it. Channels in Kuwait seem to hate giving credit when needed, you only make more enemies that way. It might be time to make a change.
According to Emirates 247 it was the highest deal involving a rare breed in Kuwait. Unique chicken usually sell for 100 KD – 400 KD in Kuwait but this one got sold for a whopping 2, 000 KD. The deal was between two wealthy families. To me it’s just a rooster but to someone else it might be the dream pet.
I posted weeks back about a list of products sent to me that were made in Kuwait, only two were kind of interesting which were a liquid soap and a light bulb. Yesterday while passing by Abyat I noticed some furniture had a logo with a special logo, which turned out to be meaning the furniture was made in Kuwait.
I’m not sure if 100% of the furniture is made in Kuwait but it would be pretty impressive if it was. They have a variety of furniture sets that were made in locally, I think I spotted 4 while I was there. It’s nice seeing companies work on making what they sell locally, it helps everyone.
Stockton Police Department posted a photo of a criminal they’ve recently arrested on $900,000 bail but because Jeremy Meeks was seen as so handsome by many, things got out of hand. Everyone started recommending he become a model, some people even photoshoped him to see what he could look like (photo below).
The post of the Police Department has more than 10,000 shares and almost 100,000 likes on Facebook right now. I’m sure Jeremy Meeks already got modeling agencies fighting to reach him. His handsome’ness story is similar to that of the Emarti who was deported from Saudi for being too handsome, except this one is real and other one turned out fake.
This is interesting, Kuwait just got a +1 for humanity. KUNA posted one of the Kuwaiti tank ships that was on its way to Italy got an urgent call from the Italian coastguards about immigrants boats that have been capsized. KPC then authorised the oil tank ship to rescue all the immigrants involved in the name of humanity. A massive 536 immigrants were rescued from drowning and were dropped off at the Italian shores.[Source]
The author of this book just sent me an email to check his book out. I’ve previously reviewed a How to Learn Kuwaiti book before. This one however I haven’t yet, it has 112 pages, is available on amazon and Jarir bookstore. I might grab one for review sometime later.
Here’s what the description on Amazon says about the book:
“This book gives the reader a fundamental understanding of the Kuwaiti dialect. The first part of the book contains some very essential grammar points. The second part of the book contains some vocabulary with example sentences. The last part of the book contains dialogues. All examples are written in English, Transliteration, and Arabic script.”
