Before I go on to talk about their new menu I want to first talk about how beautiful the place has become. They’ve revamped the whole restaurant and it looks completely different. It simply feels fresher, as you finally get to a view of the sea which was closed previously. There’s all types of colorful furniture and chandeliers.
To not fill up after one main course I asked them to serve me smaller portions of everything so I could try more. This is their burrata cheese made from mozzarella and cream, only served once a week and it’s not on their menu. I know some that are in complete love with burrata. The creamy part is inside the burrata.
A king prawn salad that’s called Gamberoni alla Piastra, comes with a panzanella salad and is just delicious. It’s a small portion but great for those who want to start with something light.
I tried a variety of pastas but this mushroom pasta was my favourite, it’s also they’re most ordered pasta. The Caserecci ai Funghi Porcini is popular for being a homemade dish. I also tried their shrimp risotto which tasted nice, a good choice for seafood lovers. Which also brings the note, their new menu has a lot of plates with shrimp and Kuwait being a country that loves shrimp only makes things better.
For their dessert I tried a bit of everything, Italian desserts are pretty light in general. My favourite still remains the tiramisu. If you haven’t been to Cucina after its renovation I recommend you give it a try, the food was good overall and the shrimp salad was my favourite part.
