The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine explained that because hot dogs contain processed meat(and lots of sodium), they contain the cancer risks equivalent to those of cigarettes. Fortunately I’m don’t like hot dogs and the only time I see myself eating one is when a movie is about to start so I’d grab one off the Cinescape food counter.
The committee went as far as trying to implement health warnings in hot dogs just like the ones you see in cigarettes. I think that’s taking it a bit too far. If you eat vegetables and fruits regularly then sneak in a few hot dogs every week, you’ll do just fine in my opinion. Just try to limit yourself to consume less hot dogs if you’re a hot dog lover.[Source]
