I’ve been playing this board game every week and have been having a lot of fun with it (considering I won the last two games). It’s a board game that isn’t well known in Kuwait, I had to buy it off (Amazon), it was introduced to me by a cousin.
The game is all about calling the other player’s bluffs. Everyone has some money and a small store where they’re supposed to sell legal goods such as bread, cheese and chicken. Each turn someone gets to be the Sheriff, he’s like Kuwait’s customs. You either get your legal goods through him, hope you pass through him without getting caught slipping illegal goods or you can bribe him.
The sheriff might call you out to check what you’re trying to sell on his turn, and if you turn out to be clean, meaning you weren’t trying to sneak illegal goods then the Sheriff has to pay you penalty. So the game has a lot to do with corruption and bribery, similar to how many sectors in Kuwait operate.
