Buying followers worldwide has reached a new high, even celebrities are doing it. I’d love to put a full list of everyone with fake followers but the hate I’ll be getting can only be compared to Chris brown beating up another Rihanna. Having 1% – 7% fake followers is considered normal but the more followers you have (by the thousands) the likely it is to have a higher fake follower percentage because bots target you more often.
When you mention a brand or topic you sometimes get followed by bots monitoring that topic. Topics like Android, iPhone, Apple, Sony, Galaxy S3 etc. You do end up with a tiny portion of fake followers as time passes by whether you like it or not, unless you have a small number of followers or a new account.
To test the web application I entered a user I know for a fact has a lot of fakes. The app did not disappoint, showed more than 50% of that users followers are fake. What the app does is scan that users followers for people with no or very little tweets, users with no or very little followers and then see which of those users follow a high portion of twitter accounts then address them as spam. A pretty good insight on most accounts.[Try it]
