Know Your Rights Around Kuwait (English Version) – Part 4

  1. Thank you for sharing this very important piece of information.

About taking pictures, I wonder if this will still be applied even if person can’t be recognised from the picture (i.e. if it was pictured from the back that no way they would be recognised).

Also, as selfies are being very popular, I am sure most of them had other people in the background who can file cases. It would be a chaos if everyone does that.

    • I think the law is directed towards those that purposely take a of someone, that someone being the main focus of the photo.

  2. It’s all very well but I think the bottom line is knowing the local language helps like nothing else does.
It’s all good. Keep it coming.

  3. A pleasant good day Sir., I toke a credit plan iPhone 5s last dec. 24’2013 in viva then two of my friends are under my name. Then they never pay the monthly bills until the viva force me to pay those bills. Now I’m suffering of my misk. I ask my two friend to returned back the two mobile but they are hiding me until now. Please help me. Can I accuse them and what should I file just to relief myself? Hope you can give me some advices. Good Bless.

Remember ur rights are as simple as " ur an expat and u dont have any rights" you can be framed and deported as and when needed....

Sorry I totally disagree about expats having rights because if your a expat it seems like you have no rights because the reason why I say this is because in Kuwait money talks and people are easy to buy each other off. And people use their influence to keep from being found guilty or try to get a case swept under the rug. I am going through a case right now against a Kuwaiti Lawyer/ ex Kuwaiti judge who tries to use his past influence which we are documenting everything. It all started off as a labor case and a American who works for this lawyer who has been screwing over people for years which is all coming back to haunt this American. Its odd you would think the Kuwait Lawyers association would stand up against lawyers who do wrong but they do nothing against that lawyer and everyone knows they will never do nothing against any Kuwaiti Lawyer. You have to have a good consultant who knows the law to help you fight. Dont just hire the first lawyer when you talk with them get second opinion and do you homework on that lawyer. People can talk good but getting you justice is another story. Just be careful and make sure you keep all documents and notes because you will need it especially in Kuwait because courts only rule on factual documents not words. Make sure you have a witness. Just be careful and do not rush because someone talks good. Please protect yourself.
