After reading a full article posted in 2005 that got released yesterday about the future of blogging in Kuwait I was just mind blown. The article isn’t supposed to be disturbed publicly but wikileaks is all about leaking data. In this article “Nibaq” and “Talal” get mentioned. Nibaq was mentioned for having the first blogger aggregator and I’m not sure who Talal is.
They mention that bloggers are mostly young in their mid-twenties, smart and male. That has dramatically changed within the past 6 years since we have bloggers as young as lujain all the way to grandparents blogging. The article also discusses that there were bloggers gatherings (around 10 people) back in 2005.
It is interesting to see what the blogosphere was like 6-7 years ago. Much has changed, and little has stayed the same. Most notably companies are a lot more interactive with bloggers today with all the events and gatherings. On a less positive note, bloggers can also get sued for stating their opinion. Looking forward to seeing what 2016+ holds for the bologsphere.
