Just when I thought deporting expats over BBQ was overkill. something even more bizarre comes up. Two expats that were cutting roadside plants are set to be deported. Were they doing something wrong? Yes, should they get deported for it? Not really. What happens if a Kuwaiti does it? Gets a tap on the hand?
I appreciate the strict environmental laws that are being implemented, but focusing on halting indoor smoking would be the single largest achievement Kuwait can make to the environment. Rather than worrying about who’s cutting and who’s stepping on plants.[Source]
Talking about this very subject mentions another issue at hand, I don’t even know whether I can freely share my opinion from now on, especially when it’s about something the government is doing. The new approved government laws that regulate bloggers and other authors criminalizing online expression including criticism of the government, religious figureheads or foreign leaders.
