We passed by Aubergine last Thursday after receiving an invitation for food testing. The place is cosy and moderate in size. Their food was one of the best Lebanese places I have tried in Kuwait. Most of what I liked was exclusive dishes they made up themselves. To my knowledge Aubergine is the dark purple colour of an Eggplant.
This salad was named after the place, Aubergine Salad. What gave it a unique taste was the dry eggplant they added. The salad also had mango, mushroom, rucca and lettuce. It’s the salad I would recommend for anyone visiting Aubergine.
What’s different about their Fattoush is the added mini fatayer filled with onion and somali powder. The black dressing is aubergine sauce. They also served Taboula, Hummus and other appetizers shown in the gallery below but I liked what they did with this one.
The Mousakhan Aubergine was my favourite. It had chicken, onion, garlic sauce, sumack powder and was wrapped in a light spring roll sheet making it crispy. It’s light and delicious, so this could be either an appetizer or a main course for someone that loves chicken.
Their Mixed Grill was good. It wasn’t extra ordinary but the kebab did taste different. I’d honesty go for other dishes rather than a mixed grill next time I visit since there is a lot to choose from. I was also told they offer a small portion of spicy Thai food.
We finished it off with 3 different types of dessert and this one was the one I liked most. It was Konafa with a twist, inside it had Arabian fruit ice cream(بوضة) and vermicelli. At the end we were beyond full. The rest of things we tried are in the gallery, I mentioned mostly my favourite dishes since there were so many.
