Bare in mind this review is from a beginners perspective. I’m not that advanced when it comes to DSLR camera’s so I’ll be reviewing the camera as whole as oppose to going through every tiny advanced feature. So far I am very pleased with it’s performance. I love the fact that it has a new option called “feature guide”, which gives you a brief description of what every setting on the camera does.
The price tag for this camera is $899(250KD) which includes a standard canon lens as well, buying the camera alone will be $100 cheaper. The box includes 3 booklets that teach beginners how to take pictures professionally, it was really helpful. Here are the list of items that come inside the box:
- T3i/600D Camera
- EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Type II Lens
- Wide Strap
- USB Interface Cable
- AV Cable
- Battery Pack
- Battery Charger
- Digital Solution Disk
- Manual + Booklets
The lens take a huge role in photography. There are specific lenses used for taking macro shots, wide shots and so forth. For starters I’m sticking with this lens that initially came with the camera itself. Most of my pictures will probably be focused on food reviews but with this camera I can finally do much more than that.
One of my favourite features with the T3i/600D is the adjustable screen. My cousin owns a T2i/550D with a fixed screen and his only regret was not having this feature. It’s really helpful when you want to take close ups and can’t look at the screen given your location. So you can just pull it out and rotate it to your liking. Note that the screen isn’t detachable.
Here are some photo’s I have taken through out the week. I tried to take close ups to long range shots to give you a better understanding of the camera’s capabilities. All pictures were shot in compressed JPEG 18 megapixels format. The file of each photo is around 4-6MB. If you want to shoot RAW shots with no compression they would go upto 25MB per photo.
If you have any questions feel free to ask away. Also, if you want to request one of the photo’s in it’s original resolution you can do that as well. To do so, just go to the contact page and fill it up.
