This review is mainly for the hardcore PC gamers out there. I know most of them are always on the hunt for a better mouse as they make a big difference in gaming. This mouse does have it’s ups and downs but I managed to find a soltuion to all the problems I came across. I do recommend this mouse, for its customization is both physically and virtually is staggering.
Let’s start with the specifications. The mouse has 5600DPI(dots per inch) range, this is currently the highest DPI on the market. Unless you have a 50 inch screen operating at no less than full HD, you will not need more than 5600DPI. You get custom weights which you can remove to lighten up the mouse and vice versa depending on what your comfortable with.
The precision aim mode(the red button) truly amazed me, if your the type that loves going sniper then this is exactly what you have been missing. I wasn’t a big fan of sniping but I can’t stop playing that class after using this mouse. It becomes fairly easy getting head shots from a huge distance, I’ve tried that in Bad Company 2.
The mouse comes with a box filled with customizable accessories to attach to your mouse for better grip and precision. You get 3 different types of palm rests along with 3 grips for your pinkie. Installing accessories is fairly easy once you get the hang of it. I personally didn’t read the manual, rather watched instructions on some reviews on YouTube.
The big metal wheel is actually a screw driver. You unscrew it to modify the mouse by rotating different nails. One nail gets the left buttons closer to your thumb, while another nail moves some buttons backwards for people with smaller hands. After finishing modifying the mouse the way that fit my hand best, I replaced the palm rest with one having a better grip and added a pinkie grip. Now it’s just the way I like it.
One of the unique features this mouse offers is a gold plated USB connector. It’s not really gold plated to look good or to enjoy showing it off in a LAN party. The gold material increases connectivity giving you faster polling rates which in simple terms increase the response rate of your mouse. The USB is also braided so no need to worry about the mouse’s wire getting tangled.
On the Second day the mouse started stuttering, gave me a nightmare just trying to play properly. After reading some forums I found out that this mouse does not act friendly with black mouse pads. So I replaced my Black Steelseries mouse pad to something more colourful. It’s been a few days and I haven’t faced the stuttering problem, so I’m guessing the solution was that simple.
