I’ve been wanting to review Eight for a while and finally managed to pass by the place, located next to Al Raya Complex. The place has a lot of gold-plated stuff, along with the menu. Their menu is really small, around 4 pages but their dishes not only look unique but taste unique as well.
One of the main reasons why I wanted to try Eight was after I saw their Sweet Potato Short Ribs on instagram. Comes with a special sauce, topped with marinated short ribs and crispy onions; definitely worth trying. The only thing I would change is switching short ribs to mashed beef.
I had a their Crispy Salad, the portion was bigger than I expected. It has a mix of greens with crispy tortilla sweet potato and beetroot mix with a spicy sauce. The salad tasted good but wasn’t that crispy, which wasn’t a bad thing really.
A dish I’m coming back for is their Chicken Lemon, a chicken breast served with lemon cream sauce and baked rosemary fries. Being the not-so-healthy person that I am, I would have switched the rosemary fries with your normal fries. Apart from that the chicken was great.
The Pink Tagliatelle is cooked with oregano herbed tomato cream sauce. You can either have it with shrimp or with chicken, either way both will fill you up as a main dish. What I like about Eight is how their dishes all come in reasonable portions unlike some new restaurants with a tiny dish and a pricy bill.
We finished it off with Vanilla Bites. There a great dessert because they aren’t heavy but don’t try eating one in one go, else your mouth will freeze and your teeth will scream. For a much heavier dessert we ordered chocolate fondue that’s available on the gallery below.
