Review: Fursan il Manakh – Kuwaiti Monopoly Deal with a Twist
After monopoly deal got popular in Kuwait a group of guys made a Kuwaiti version of it. Now there’s a new version this time with a lot of effort in design and layout. I should note Fursan Il Manakh is based on the Hong Kong version of the game which includes more cards such as an action to cancelling a players turn and Double Sly (stealing two cards from a player).
There are two new cards that aren’t in the original Monopoly Deal. The first is “Thariba”, it lets a player pay you 1 million on each property you own. So if you own 6 properties in total, he pays you 6 million. The second “Badil Ifloosik” which is a total game changer, lets you switch your money with someone else. There is only one “Badil Ifloosik” card in the deck.
The money cards haven’t changed a lot apart from the design. I don’t know why they went with having both KD and Million, I would have preferred just KD. Like the original Monopoly Deal there is only one 10KD card in the deck. I would have liked two 7KD cards in the deck or something, they come in handy with high rent costs.
One of my favourite parts are the names they gave to the action cards. Instead of “Just Say No” It’s “Iglib Waihik” which makes more sense because that’s the feeling someone would have during the play. Instead of “It’s My Birthday” it’s now “Zakat”, so you should feel more inclined to pay even though it’s forcefully.
There are a lot more properties, I just took a photo of some of them. I think the property cards have almost every part of Kuwait mentioned. Overall I like the solid quality of the cards, the design and card naming are nicely done. In total there are 108 cards in the deck. Fursan Il Manakh is sold for 8KD.
