On my recent stay in Dubai I decided to book a room at the new Marriott on Jaddaf street, it’s only been functioning for a few months. Had a good time but wanted to have a review pointing out some things to keep in mind. There’s actually nothing next to it within walking distance, almost like a dessert with a hotel in the middle.
Most tourist areas aren’t too far though, like going to Dubai Mall only takes 10 – 15 minutes. The lobby is cosy and comfortable. I use to wake up in the morning, go to the lobby, order a cappuccino and work on an upcoming blog posts, something I enjoyed doing.
There’s this gorgeous chandelier hidden inside the hotel if you booked on the bottom floors of the hotel, I only noticed it because I decided to look upwards in a certain corner of the hotel. The place was built with luxury at their upmost priority. I asked the staff and apparently this is like the 5th Marriott hotel in Dubai.
If you look at photos of the hotel’s swimming pool on booking websites you’ll get the impression it’s pretty big. It was actually fairly small when I got there, wasn’t that deep either. I guess it was built for people that wanted to chill and tan, not for people like me who actually wanted to swim and do a few laps.
The rooms were nice, nothing extraordinary apart from the button you switched on to enable Do Not Disturb. It felt like almost all the channels were football, fortunately found The Discovery channel. The room service food was great, they had butter chicken main course and it was one of the best I’ve ever had.
