I should just write a blog post of all the things that could get you deported. Illegal barbecuing still tops the list. Four expats were recently deported for driving without a licence. The sponsor gets informed and has to give-in the expat’s passport for a one-way ticket. The driver faces deportation within hours of breaking the law.(Source)
According to the Head of the Municipal Council, expatriates barbecuing in non-allocated places can and will be deported. This includes barbecuing in beaches and public parks. There are specific spots at the beach and in public gardens where people can actually barbecue (anyone has the list?). I’m not a BBQ guy, I attend one around once a year but I think deporting an expat because they were simply barbecuing in the wrong spot is way too harsh.[Source]
Went all the way to Mahboula the other day to try Smoke House Southern BBQ. They have something I’ve been wanting to try for a long time, the camel burger which they call the Hashi Burger. The place is definitely for the BBQ lovers, most of the dishes are either cooked with BBQ sauce or have it on the side.
The nachos was completely plain and for some reason I loved it. You get the tomato sauce with it but because we ordered fried chicken wings we had 5 difference sauces to dip from, since the chicken wings came with 4 sauces. Will probably ask them next time I’m there where they get their nacho supply from. continue reading»
