X-Cite invited bloggers for a sushi learning class in celebration of xcite.com‘s 1st year anniversary. Everyone at home knows the best I can do is a half cooked egg so this was a completely new experience. For one, I now have a lot more appreciation for sushi chefs, I had no idea this much effort and time is consumed just to cook something I eat in a minute.
After cooking everything it was time to slice the sushi roll. It took me more than a minute for every slice because you couldn’t put too much force. You had to go with the flow basically so that nothing moves from its position. I also prepared some onion rings and sticky rice which was the easy part.
This was the end result of all the work which I’m pretty proud of. I did get a lot of help in the process. Although Hind Al Nahedh’s plate next to me was way better, experience counts in this instance. After that they taught us how to make raw sushi rolls which I’m not a fan of so I skipped that part. Then came the fried banana dessert available in the gallery below.
Learned a lot about cooking yesterday. At the very end there was an X-Cite birthday cake. It was nice meeting blogs I have never met before like n3ver2late. I am actually looking forward to future cooking classes if any, it was a lot more fun than I had expected.
