Quite possibly the biggest time waster cookie game, but since it has cookies in it that’s a big plus. You start off as low budget by hiring grandma’s to make you cookies, before you know you’re producing millions of cookies with factories and laboratories under your control. Nothing makes me crave cookies more than a cookie commercial I suppose. I liked ChoowyGoowy’s latest commercial, the part where the cookies melt and formulate makes you want to pick up the phone and order a dozen. I recently found out if you return the jar, they give you KD 0.500 back.
I like the name of the businesses, Akil Baity serves as a store for homemade desserts. I wrote about Bait Bite and was excited about the concept but I think they shut down or something, the stores they serve from have dropped drastically. Akil Baity is similar but it focuses on high quality homemade-based businesses.
Right now they deliver cakes, minis, assorted sweets, entrees & pastries and are planning to expand. The process is simple, after ordering the kitchen gets an email of your order. They then confirm and start working on it. Make sure you check how long an order takes, some of them span up to 4+ hours.[Website]

I passed by Figs’ new branch at the avenues located above Pot Belly a few days ago during the bloggers soft-opening. The place was packed and I was excited to try their new dishes, to read my figs review click [here]. Almost everything I ordered wasn’t available on the figs menu in 360 mall, most popular dishes are still available in both branches.
This salad was a mix of apple, tuna, pomegranate and a lot of lettuce One thing I noticed was all their salad come with a lot of lettuce, which is in my case a good thing. The ingredients tasted fresh and the sauce wasn’t heavy. The salad looks like it’s a lot but you will still have a lot of space for the main course because most of it is lettuce.
My main course was lasagna stuffed with a lot of cheese. Was so hot I went crazy after the first bite, I recommend cutting it in half and waiting a few minutes until it cools off a bit. The dish itself was nice but pretty heavy. If you’re a cheese lover then this is probably for you.
The moment I read Fried Cookies on the menu it was all I had in mind. There was a scope of vanilla, some chocolate to dip the cookies in and some heavy powdered fried cookies. This dessert is definitely for sharing unless you want to feel really guilty at the end of the day.
I didn’t go to Choowy Goowy Avenues to review cookies, although I do have a full cookie brand comparison chart which can be found [here], I came to try their restaurant. For those who didn’t hear about it, Choowy Goowy expanded to offering a variety of dishes and I really liked most of them. I loved how the light bulbs were actual Choowy Goowy cookie jars.
The Rocca Salad was different from your typical rocca, they added their own touch to it. Had arugula, grapes and parmesan cheese, the grapes gave a unique taste to the salad. The whole thing came in a long wooden plate, on the other side was the Asian Salad which can be seen in the gallery below.
You’d be curious to see what this dish looks like because it’s called Beef Biscuit Bomb. It’s a mixed of pulled beef, cheese, tiny bits of fries and a special sauce. If this bomb is being shared by a group then that’s fine but if it’s for one person then I recommend this to be your main course. Has an interesting combo that’s worth trying.
The Tomato Pesto Shrimp was without doubt my favourite dish. I’m going back to Choowy Goowy with this dish in mind, it was deliciously good. I liked how the white rice blends with the yellow rice while the pesto sauce hit the spot. This is no light meal since you’ll be consuming a good amount of rice.
Choowy Goowy had two types of burgers, the Classic Burger and the Cowboy Burger. Classic had the normal stuff you’d have on a standard burger except with a special sauce while the cowboy had cheese, bacon, friend onion and BBQ sauce. I like the classic more because I don’t like heavy BBQ sauce in general. They come with chips, rather than fries which I liked.
Finally came the best dessert I’ve had in a long time. Melted brownie chocolate in a jar and a scope of ice cream. Everyone rushed to try it, was a much-needed dessert. Similar a brownie with a melted scope on top but better. We also tried Blondie, which is a dessert that you can smell from 3 meters away. Also comes with an ice scream scope. Both are worth trying, but I’d pick the brownie dessert.

I just got confirmation from the E-Marketing Manager of Ben’s Cookies that they will be opening in Avenues Phase III this December. This also means that phase III will be completed very soon. To some people’s surprise, I haven’t tried Ben’s Cookies yet but am dying to. It’s only a month from now (hopefully) so no biggie.
De.Licious cookies are handmade from scratch in small batches. The guy that makes them spent years trying to perfect the yummiest chocolate chip cookie. He currently only servers chocolate chip cookies which is what I had and they were pretty good. I liked how melt the chocolate chips inside the moist cookie are. A dozen costs 5KD.

A guy dropped out of college to persue his love for cookies in a whole new level. He called his business The Secret Cookie Service. You call a number and get a creepy automated message asking you to leave your address and how much cookies you want. Soon you’ll find two guys wearing black shades and suits outside your door delivering you cookies.
At first he didn’t tell any friends or relatives he dropped out of college to open a cookie business because he didn’t want all the negative feedback. So he started the small business as a secret and that’s where he came up with the initial idea. What some might think as stupid, others see as genius. That’s how people start small and end up big.
