You’re at the supermarket and you see a driver putting big boxes of Vimto in the car. Ironically, Vimto has zero relevance to the holy month, I don’t even know why it’s a Ramadan thing, we just grew up to know so. It’d be interesting watching a documentary how Vimto became a Ramadan thing.
DietCenter made a comical informative video involving what to do compared to what not to do during the holy month of Ramadan when it comes to food. Ramadan is not a food competition, you don’t have to think about what you’re going to eat all day. For those that don’t understand Arabic, I bullet point their tips.
- Don’t eat a whole day worth of food in 30 minutes, food consumption has to be in phases
- Drink water regularly, not soda. To avoid your stomach getting dry
- Avoid sweets as much as possible
- Eat vegetables and fruits whenever possible
- Exercise even if it were for a few minutes
- Don’t skip suhoor to stay energetic the next day
I might add some other tips based on other sources later
I got a cool looking wooden board with the blogs logo on it from Diet Care few days back, guess I have to start cooking. The gift also included their new cookbook which has over 40 Ramadan healthy recipes. I quickly skimmed through it just now and that wasn’t a bright idea since I’m fasting. Costs KD 7.5 and can be bought from any diet care store. They also have last years cookbook that costs KD 5.
I loved KFH’s commercial. At least one company is focusing on what’s significant in the holy month of Ramadan. Rather than a funny commercial or a smart one, they focused on what’s important. I would only hope other companies take their foot steps.
Wishing you all a Ramadan Kareem filled with faith and patients. Remember the people that are starving, and be grateful. Try to donate a small amount of money everyday, even if it’s just a few coins. It’s not about watching as many TV shows as possible, it never was.
The Wataniya Gala Dinner was all about celebrating the new Wataniya TV channel that will start broadcasting during the Holy Month of Ramadan. All the celebrities that will take part in the shows Wataniya TV will be offering were invited. Seems like every event here on always has a bloggers table. Can’t wait for Ramadan to finally arrive.
