One of my favourite burger joints, which I’ve listed on my top 3 burger places in Kuwait is finally expanding, they’re now opening in Salmiya, Gulf Street in a new mall beside Symphony. They haven’t announced it on their channels, I was hoping to find out their opening date, maybe February next year?
I was excited to have convenience stores in gas stations, this should have been done ages ago. Every GCC country I visited has this. I posted back in 2012 when Alpha announced it’s opening convenient stores at gas stations they run. I passed by that same gas station I took a photo of, the store is as is except without the billboard. I think it might be because they couldn’t get a licence.
Looks like illy is going head-to-head with the competition. From the entire mall they decided to place their new store right in front of Nespresso and I’m pretty sure Nespresso aren’t happy about it. I personally prefer illy over Nespresso but haven’t bought any of their machines yet.
I have been following Diner’s instagram account for a while now from decorating the place to trying different recipes. They’re almost done and will be opening their doors this week. Located downstairs at AlTejaria Tower. The place is small but cosy, the interior is all original wood which for me added value to the place.
The burger is as good as it looks, called The Havana. Contains a mix including Cuban spices which are pretty strong so it’s not for everyone, they offer 3 other burgers worth trying. The restaurant is also going to have chicken and turkey sandwiches but will be focused on the burgers.
I also tried some of their cookies, the one above is their Cadbury Cookies which is definitely worth trying. The cookie dough they use is unique because it’s their own mix, the dough tastes different and might need some time getting used to. There’s a big list of cookie recipes they have planned including coconut cookies.
The place is owned by 2 Kuwaiti guys and is not a franchise, which makes me want to support it more. They worked hard to supply quality beef and chicken so kudos to them. I’ll be passing by every now and then to try something new on their menu.
Not that Jarbiya needed even more restaurant to begin with, it’s already showered with restaurants on every corner you look. A new mini-mall is being built next to Champion that will house Johnny Rockets, Nino, Chocolate Cafe and Caribou. I’m pretty sure there’s going to be more by the time the mini-mall is complete.
Just falafel, the vegetarian brand that started in UAE and is now all over the world announced they’re coming to Kuwait very soon. Just skimming through their pages I noticed they have over 1 million likes on Facebook alone. They offer Lebanese, Egyptian, Greek, Indian, Italian and Emarati falafel flavours.
Spinneys, the kinda high-end grocery store is planning to open in Kuwait competing with Sultan Center and Carrefour. I’m going to prefer them over other stores if they adapt their Go Green services like offering reusable bags, smoke-free environment and installing recycle machines.[Source]
I just got confirmation from the E-Marketing Manager of Ben’s Cookies that they will be opening in Avenues Phase III this December. This also means that phase III will be completed very soon. To some people’s surprise, I haven’t tried Ben’s Cookies yet but am dying to. It’s only a month from now (hopefully) so no biggie.
