I find it hard to believe someone has the heart to buy a $7,000 (Over 2,000 KD) burger when there are millions of kids starving out there. Fortunately the burger was auctioned and the money went to a charity fund related to breast cancer awareness. The previous record was $5,000 burger in Las Vegas.
You’d think after being a loyal customer for over 5 years they’d treat you decently. I’ve always complimented them to friends and defended them when someone told me they were pretty bad but they totally hit the fan on this one. My car has been in their garage for 2 weeks and they haven’t even touched it yet nor offered me a temporary car.
Two weeks ago I went to Audi because a battery warning sign popped up in my car. After spending over 3 hours waiting for them to replace the battery for an overpriced amount. They then found out the dynamo is actually what was damaged and not the battery. I had to leave with a taxi and leave my car at their garage.
They told me the dynamo piece for my car wasn’t available and had to be ordered from Dubai, it would take a week at max. I waited a week, with no car replacement and I called twice to check on my car. Both times they would tell me they’d call back in ~15 minutes and never call back which got on my nerves. How can you just tell a customer we’ll call you back and just ignore them? How much disrespect can you possibly have for a customer?
The third time I called and explained how I’ve been ignored by terrible customer service, the guy on the phone said the same exact thing, I’ll call you back later. He did eventually call back hours later, telling me the order got delayed by another week. I love how he mentioned the problem was from the Dubai branch and not their branch, like that would make me feel much better and totally okay with waiting another week with no car.
At this stage they could have at least offered me a temporary car because of all the faults and issues they made me go through but no, they’re contempt with how things are. The dynamo piece finally arrives and I think there’s an issue with the piece, I have to wait even more until they get another one.
You’d think they would treat a customer of 5 years with at least some decency. I really like Audi but after this customer service experience I will likely be looking elsewhere. My car hasn’t been touched yet, sitting there for 2 weeks in the service garage and I’m sure after they’re done I’ll be charged a ridiculous amount of money.
Update: I got my car back, read how it went [here].
I know sheep prices bump up during Eid but I had no idea it can get this serious. Just when I thought the rooster sold for KD 2000 was overdoing it comes a sheep that was sold for KD 80,000, that’s 40 times more expensive. This gives a new meaning the term, luxury sheep. The sheep was named ‘The German’, after Germany won the world cup. The previous record was KD 65,000. [Source]
I’m starting to get fed up of how so many things are over-priced, some things cost triple or quadruple the cost in comparison to the price it’s sold at in other countries. What’s worse is even some delivery services charge you in a manner that makes no sense at all.
I ordered 2 Egg Masters which cost KD 8 each. Once they arrived I researched their manufacturing cost (the ones I got turned out to be a Chinese knockoff from the original Rollie product) but the manufacturer never got back to me. Nevertheless, a quick search will tell you the average cost to manufacture one ranges from $6-$8.
So it costs around KD 2 to sell an Egg Master, while I paid 4 times that amount, a bit overpriced maybe? Next up was the delivery service, Delivery Express. The two Egg Masters arrived and the driver charged KD 20 which didn’t make sense to me since they told me delivery cost was KD 2.
2 Egg Masters = KD 16 + KD 2 = KD 18. After I managed to reach someone in charge he told me their system adds a delivery cost for every item. So even though the 2 Egg Masters arrived together in 1 delivery I paid for them as if they were delivered separately.
What they’re basically telling me is, their system is so terrible that I have to pay double the delivery charge, which is absurd; how is their system my problem? This also means if I order 9 Egg Masters I have to pay KD 18 for 1 delivery. It might cost me less in delivery cost if I shipped 9 Egg Masters from the U.S.
Update: The owner of Delivery Express got in touch to better explain the situation that happened. The guy I initially talked to misinformed me on how the system worked for that specific order. In some cases they make a fixed profit from every delivery (in this case it was KD 2). They had a deal with the store selling Egg Masters to get KD 2 of the total price for every item, so it should have been sold at KD 10 each and the guy who I talked to at the time should have avoided diving into details to avoid confusion.
