I was sitting on the passenger seat at the traffic light near Marina Mall when suddenly the huge billboard ad decided it wanted to shut down, no surprise it was running Windows. I think the world’s most popular error is Windows’ blue screen. Digital billboards should adapt to more stable operating systems.
QortubaMe have done a great job in their previous project, the playground is now much greener and cleaner. Although this campaign started for Qortoba supported by people in that area it has expanded to 27 other areas where people are contributing with money and effort to clean up and rebuild their area.
I listed the current ‘AreaMe’ instagram accounts, if you’re part of any of the areas below you can follow your area to stay updated on projects and achievements. I love that this entire campaign started by youth who wanted to see positive change and isn’t sponsored by any other than the goodwill of people.
Spotted this at Sultan Center Salmiya. Since eating organic food is trending in Kuwait Sultan took advantage of that by opening a designated area. For those wondering, “organic food does not involve modern synthetic inputs such as synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers.” The small area actually has a big variety including organic cookies, something I should try very soon.
I read about this awhile ago but I wasn’t too sure if it was going to happen. Looks like the event is real and will take place during Hala February for 3 days. I might go for it and break a few barriers. To register you have to go to their office in Hawali, you can get their contact information from their Facebook Page and they should tell you where to go.
Here are their offers:
- Free: After registering if applicable you get to jump.
- KD 10: You get 10 photos of your experience.
- KD 20: You get 10 photos of your experience plus a certificate.
The police reported a suicide case when an Asian man fell from a building. After finding out the guy sleepwalks they decided that he sleepwalked to his death. Has it not crossed anyone’s mind that this might be a murder case? The whole story sounds too fishy to be settled down by saying the guy probably sleepwalked and jumped outside the window.
“KUWAIT: An Asian who was walking in his sleep was killed when he fell from a high rise building in Salmiya, security sources said. The police were called when the neighbors saw the man’s body in the building’s yard and reported it as a case of suicide. However, further investigations revealed that the deceased was known to be a sleepwalker and that he was often noticed walking in his sleep but he proved to be unfortunate this time and fell to his death.“
Looks like the opportunity of BananaQ8 opening their own cafe is no longer there. Someone is opening a cafe in Salmiya that’s named under their blogs name. The cafe has a pretty cool logo but that’s all I know until they open up. This might have been coincidental but I’m doubtful. I think UpTill1 is a pretty cool cafe name for those interested.
I passed by Mrs.Fields yesterday and noticed they have staff inside. They’re currently on their soft opening, the official opening is on January 6th. Best part of it all was they were giving away cookies to everyone. So you can probably get away with some before the official opening. Queens Burger offers sliders and burgers, they are both owned by the same owner.
While on a cookie hunting spree at Sultan Center I found these snack bars. First thing I noticed was the “Does not contain alcohol or any pork derivatives” note, not sure why it’s there. The snack bar is for 150fils with a decent variety to choose from. I tried the milk chocolate but didn’t fancy it all that much, don’t know about the rest.
