I know sheep prices bump up during Eid but I had no idea it can get this serious. Just when I thought the rooster sold for KD 2000 was overdoing it comes a sheep that was sold for KD 80,000, that’s 40 times more expensive. This gives a new meaning the term, luxury sheep. The sheep was named ‘The German’, after Germany won the world cup. The previous record was KD 65,000. [Source]
A relative was complaining their tea tasted like sheep so I did a quick photoshop job and told her lipton stole her idea. Maybe she fell it for the first 3 seconds, then I shared this photo on BBM Messenger and looks like it’s slowly spreading. Not nearly as fast as when I posted the KD 1000 bill though.
We’ve been taught that it does, but I never really believed in it because as a kid it has never worked for me. BBC just had a story on this and turns out I was right, not only does it not work, but at times it will take you longer than if you did nothing at all. What is recommended is thinking of something pleasant, it distracts you from worries which shortens the amount of time it takes you to sleep.[Source]
Mark wrote about how instagram accounts are being used to sell sheep in Kuwait a few months back. Then on a completely unrelated occasion, Fatima Al Qadiri was interviewed by Mousse Magazine and she explained how popular instagram is in Kuwait. I don’t know why these two events somehow connected and caused a spark. Sheep and Fatima Al Qadiri keep getting mentioned in articles.
Here are very popular websites which wrote about instagram sheep selling accounts among other things, some I didn’t list:
Guess I’ll be celebrating two things today. The 2nd year of blogging passed by so quickly, traffic has been crazy, I honestly didn’t think I’d reach this much this fast. Blogging isn’t easy like most of you think it is, but I enjoy every part of it. I’m currently working on a revamp theme for the blog while still keeping it simple, will see how that goes.
Wishing a Happy Eid to friends, family and readers. I hope you’re enjoying reading Kuwaitiful as much as I enjoy writing on it.
