There are a lot of apps out there which allow you to pay your bills/top up, this one however has two things I like. First is the simple user interface, tap on the telecom, fill in your information and pay. The other part that I like is the fact that you can also purchase iTunes and Google Play prepaid cards right from the app.
I’ve been using VSCO Cam app for months and I must say it’s been my favourite app to capture and edit photos. What I love about is the fact that it has a clean and simple interface yet has the options of a power user, where other apps normally undermine and pick one of the two.
I feel this is what instagram should have become but haven’t, they stayed pretty much with the same options and limited filters. You get your standard filters, after you pick the filter you can reduce its contrast on your photo. Once your done you can go into more details and change things like brightness, sharpness, tone, saturation etc.
On the left is the standard photo I took of me holding a cookie, on the right is the image after a few minutes of changing some options using the app. The way the app makes money is by selling filters, although you do get a lot of free filters with the app pre-installed, I bought 3 filters so far for $0.99 or $1.99 can’t remember.
Microsoft have ditched Hotmail and have announced the new Outlook. Since this is very recent news many short ‘@outlook.com’ nicknames are still available, I was able to snatch the one I want. You can probably get an email with your name without adding any numbers. The Outlook account will be your main account for Microsoft services like Xbox Live and SkyDrive.
I like the new user interface by Microsoft, though I rarely like anything coming from them. It’s simple and minimal, unlike Hotmail which is cluttered and confusing. I don’t use any of Microsoft’s services apart from Hotmail although I might use SkyDrive since I have 25GB of free space but snatching the username I wanted is basically why I signed up.[Link]
I have fallen in love with the new YouTube user interface. It’s so much simpler yet much more efficient. This isn’t actually a change you’ll see as soon as you enter YouTube, you have to enable it yourself. You can finally see full screen videos within the browser, rather than taking up all the screen. There were also changes in the playlists and channels.[Theme – Cosmic Panda]
