I keep hearing about unfortunate people coming to Kuwait after a great vacation only to find out their bill is at least 1000KD. Most times this is caused by internet subscriptions, they use their local sim card abroad with 3G on. This means the internet service is functioning even if you don’t want it to. So the internet service is adding to your bill daily.
A friend of mine had a problem with one of the telecomunications which didn’t make any sense. He called their customer serivce and cancelled his internet service. A few months later he got a message that his bill limit was almost reached. He later found out that the internet service was still running. After some discussion they explained to him that he cancelled the internet service but didn’t disable it. Which in my dictionary is pretty much the same thing.
What I suggest is before you travel whilst you’re still in Kuwait, shut off your phone and remove the sim card from your device. Once you arrive to your destination just buy a cheap prepaid number and message everyone telling them they can reach you with this new number. Never insert your local sim card while you’re outside the country or bills will unexpectedly start raining. Only put your local sim card back once you’re back in Kuwait.
