I was at a dinner yesterday at Crowne Plaza which included the co-founder of Apple Steve Wozniak and the co-founder of Starbucks Zev Seigl. To my surprise Steve came wearing a dishdasha, I guess he realized how comfortable it was to wear one.
I never thought Steve and I had similar thoughts on Apple’s iPhone, but it turns out we did. To me the iPhone 4 was the most innovative Apple has become, after that newer models phones were just upgrades. They didn’t have a revamped infrastructure or ground breaking technology, they no longer set the standards.
When asked what was his favourite iPhone he said the iPhone 4 because to him it was like iPhone 2.0. Android just topped 81% market penetration globally while Apple was 13.4% in Q3 this year, Apple lost around ~2% from Q2. They don’t need more colorful phones, they need the Steve Jobs mentality.
