Finally joined the supposedly small group of people that are testing this amazing social network platform. I noticed Google mixed a little bit of everything from a variety of social networks. The add friend concept kind of comes from twitter where you follow and get followed but in circles, which is twitter terms is called lists. The “+1” is more of an idea from tumblr where you share someone’s post on your page.
The chatting feature is pretty impressive, specially since it has hangouts where you can just video chat with a bunch of friends all together on your web browser. Of course Facebook blocked any way of importing your Facebook contacts to Google+ which is why I love the differences between the two social networks when it comes to privacy.
There has been a lot of outcry regarding Facebook saving users data whether they like it or not. All you can do is deactivate your account, yet all your data will still be saved on their servers. However, when it comes to Google+ you have full control over whether you want to completely delete your data or just your profile. Hats off to Google on this one.
If you want an invite, leave a comment and fill in the email box with the email you want your invite sent to(preferably gmail). Or use the contact page.
