I’m surprised it’s already their 10th year anniversary, it seems just yesterday Gulf Run was launching. Last week they had a closed event to celebrate and announce new plans like the upcoming endurance karting race. They had a presentation going through how they started and where they are now.
Interesting story, when Seven Friday, a premium Switzerland based watch brand contacted Gulf Run and said we want to make you an exclusive watch. The watch was manufactured in limited edition and was sold out quick, they do look really nice. Seven Friday then decided to make a whole set of watches for Gulf Run. There’s a Seven Friday account in Kuwait too.
Best part of the event was trying Nomad’s Kitchen. The guy behind it is Basil Al Salem, famous for restaurants OFK, Slider Station and my favourite, Burger Boutique. He has now launched his latest concept, a food truck with some of his best-selling meals plus some new ones.
I tried the 1973 burger and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever tasted. It came with crispy nachos, something no ones does and I miss dearly (Texas Chicken use to make them). Plus the bun comes crispy from the bottom, similar to how Fuddruckers use to make it. Combine all this with a really good patty and you have this burger.
Overall it was fun meeting up with people I know, too bad I had to leave early. Gulf Run has a lot of upcoming events, including the yearly 360 Mall more car show, with more cars than previous car shows they’ve done. I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it to the karting endurance race but it’s worth going to.
