Uber Isn’t Coming to Kuwait Very Soon

  1. earlier tonight I was driving back home from school & I glanced a guy looking for a taxi on the blahat strip & instintly thought woah wish we could have Uber in Kuwait !

  2. its not feasible for them to come here. Kuwait can’t support businesses that require stable regulation. They probably wouldn’t even be allowed to get a business license (unless they had the right partner). Also lets be honest, their customers are not in Kuwait. Ok there are some people who might use it sometimes, but the majority of taxi clients are not going to pay for uber. and/or can’t because they don’t have a credit card to link to their uber account. The business environment isn’t healthy enough and the client isn’t sophisticated enough. It I were them I would look for much lower hanging fruit before even thinking about coming into an economy like Kuwait.

  3. The system they are working in is extremely bad. At the beginning it was cheaper not to follow the meter, but now the meter is cheaper. Customers accepted ignoring the meter in the beginning therefore they can not argue now.
Having said that I agree there is too much corruption in this field. I think one way to force fixing it, if all agree not using this service for one week, driver will come be more fair. This service is extreme capitalism example of supply and demand; they will keep raising their rates whenever they got the chance.

900 fils on the meter is really 2.5kd. Government should fix this not leave the people to fight with the drivers on a daily basis.
