I’ve read about Whatsapp vulnerabilities before and how the app is pretty bad at handling security but it just got worse. A new exposed vulnerability allows anyone who’s able to eavesdrop on your Whatsapp connection to decrypt and read your Whatsapp messages. Meaning whoever is providing you with internet can decrypt and access your Whatsapp messages (given he has the know-how).
So if you’re at the Avenues for example and you’re using Avenues’ WiFi, they can do it if they wanted to. If you’re connected to your friends hotspot, he can do it. Your telecom provider can certainly do it. For more details on the Whatsapp vulnerability click [here]. The developer who discovered this exploit suggests avoiding Whatsapp until they patch it, I doubt people in Kuwait are going to do that so just be cautious who you connect to.
