I got to pass by the new X-Cite in avenues to have a tour of the total revamp they have made. A small portion of the place use to be technology related while the rest was furniture. They’ve removed all the furniture and it’s now like a supermarket for electronic devices. My favourite part was the gaming zone expansion, they really put PC gamers in mind.
They now have a full section for Alienware products including desktops for the very first time. They don’t offer desktop customization like in Hawalli yet but they have some really decent Alienware laptops for gamers with 16GB of DRR3 RAM. That’s more than what I have on my gaming desktop, might go for an upgrade soon.
Designated rooms are available for those that want to get a feel on what it’s like having a full surround system and a big screen. Each room has different brands so you can compare the quality of sound. You now control everything on your iPad instead of a remote.
Consoles have their own section too, there are 3 wide tv screens you can test out the motion controllers with. One with a Wii Remote Control, one with Xbox Connect and the last screen with PlayStation Move. Ironically I found a hardcore gaming headset for the PS3 that costs more than the Playstation itself (shown in gallery).
A cool section in X-Cite is the customization booth. You can custom make any sticker you want for either your laptop or your mobile phone. They also offer engraving, not sure how long it takes though to engrave. I think extra space is for the better because it use to be crowded during weekends. The cinema section is still under construction, looking forward to seeing what it will be like.
