At least not anytime soon. Rumor has been spreading that they will be opening soon so I emailed them and unfortunately was informed “At this time, 7-Eleven has no plans to enter Kuwait.” I’m pretty sure if Al-Shaya nails them with an offer they won’t be able to resist. Either way, we’ll have to make do with the 7-Eleven Kuwaiti version for the time being.
7-Eleven, world’s largest operator, franchisor and licensor of convenience stores has a copy cat in Kuwait. There logos are pretty similar but there won’t be any lawsuits involved. This did make me wonder why we don’t have a bakala franchise, one that has its bakala’s all over Kuwait. This might be a good plan for someone looking to start a small business.
7-Eleven recently released their new hot dog flavoured potato chips. It was inspired by their Big Bite Hot Dog, so the chips is suppose to taste similar to the actual hot dog. The pack contains 400 calories, that’s more than half the calories in a Big Mac burger(with cheese). I wouldn’t try it, though I’d go with shawerma chips, I’d try those. [Source]
