One of my favourite burger joints, which I’ve listed on my top 3 burger places in Kuwait is finally expanding, they’re now opening in Salmiya, Gulf Street in a new mall beside Symphony. They haven’t announced it on their channels, I was hoping to find out their opening date, maybe February next year?
This is supposedly the biggest burger being served in Kuwait by Kusina Grill & Restaurant weighing 3.4 kilos in total. Someone sent it to me saying he’s on the search for the biggest burger in Kuwait, but I think it’s just someone from Kusina Grill trying to promote it. If anyone has spotted a bigger burger in Kuwait please email it to me. I personally wouldn’t even consider eating it, way too huge.
For last Friday’s family gathering we ordered catering from Diner and things went pretty well. The staff will install their station where you want it to be, as long as there’s a plug close by. The burgers were good, staff was friendly, and their pricing was very reasonable. The Havana burger was my favourite, it’s the one I recommend.
There basic package is good for 10 – 13 people and includes:
- 10 Burgers (original,Havana,or creamy mushroom)
- 10 Chicken Fillet ( original , buffalo , or RGM )
- 10 fries (regular , andalous, or moster )
- 18 Pieces of Chicken Tenders
Price: 75 KD
You can play around the package, for example we removed 5 chicken fillets and added 10 more burgers, which understandably increase the price of the package a bit.
I also reviewed Diner’s restaurant 2 years back, to read the review click [here].

I find it hard to believe someone has the heart to buy a $7,000 (Over 2,000 KD) burger when there are millions of kids starving out there. Fortunately the burger was auctioned and the money went to a charity fund related to breast cancer awareness. The previous record was $5,000 burger in Las Vegas.
I have been following Diner’s instagram account for a while now from decorating the place to trying different recipes. They’re almost done and will be opening their doors this week. Located downstairs at AlTejaria Tower. The place is small but cosy, the interior is all original wood which for me added value to the place.
The burger is as good as it looks, called The Havana. Contains a mix including Cuban spices which are pretty strong so it’s not for everyone, they offer 3 other burgers worth trying. The restaurant is also going to have chicken and turkey sandwiches but will be focused on the burgers.
I also tried some of their cookies, the one above is their Cadbury Cookies which is definitely worth trying. The cookie dough they use is unique because it’s their own mix, the dough tastes different and might need some time getting used to. There’s a big list of cookie recipes they have planned including coconut cookies.
The place is owned by 2 Kuwaiti guys and is not a franchise, which makes me want to support it more. They worked hard to supply quality beef and chicken so kudos to them. I’ll be passing by every now and then to try something new on their menu.
After years of research and a budget exceeding $384,000 researchers in the Netherlands have introduced the first lab grown burger (shown above). It’s grown from cow stem cells, looks like a grayish matter which there is no way on earth I’m trying. The patty however is then dyed to make it look like a regular meet.
Researchers have claimed it’s very hard to tell the difference in taste of the normal burger and lab grown one. I get the feeling fast food chains like Burger King and McDonald’s will be the first to adopt to lab grown beef to cut on costs. Five years from now I expect half the food we consume is lab grown.
I’ve heard about mustard a few times before being invited to review the place. They started out as a delivery service and became popular. Soon after that they opened their first store at 52 Degrees. The idea was inspired by 5 Guys burger place in the U.S. I think it’s the very first time I order a salad with my burger.
I started out with a chicken caesar salad while my friend had a rocket salad (a healthier option). Very rarely do I find a burger place that offers salads and I would like to see more of those because in most cases a burger isn’t enough to fill me up while I don’t always want fries on the side. The salad was good for 2, big portion.
For appetizers we had Mini Corn-Dogs, Chili Cheese Fries and Crunchy Shrimp shown above. Some people like restaurant to focus on burgers but I don’t see why having a variety is a bad idea, I like that they had a lot of things to try. Their sauces are heavy but tasty, the crunchy shrimp is recommended.
The Breakfast Club’s first branch was in Fintas, they were open until 3p.m everday serving breakfast. They’ve now expanded and opened a new branch in Kuwait City a few weeks back, so I passed by to review the place now that they also serve dinner and lunch. I like how they somehow managed to have pancakes as main courses with heavy sauces. continue reading»
