If you’re super lazy but still want to clean/whiten your teeth you don’t have to leave the house anymore. I spotted this the other day, Bayan Dental now has a mobile clinic that will come to you. One thing they’re offering is a Bridal Package, they will come and fix up your teeth before your wedding.
There’s a new service that launched just a few days ago called Boxit and it’s like Dropbox but in real life. What I mean is, you order the boxes you need, you fill them up and they will store them in their warehouse. You can then call them whenever you want and have any of the boxes delivered to you wherever you are.
Each box is 60cm x 40cm x 38cm in size and has a 3 KD per month subscription fee, they will also charge you for return ever delivery. Their pricing details and offers can be viewed [here]. Ideally, I see this service being useful for those living in crammed apartments or people who have a booth in events where you would just tell Boxit to pick up your stuff at the end of every event and deliver your stuff before a new event your participating in starts.
I’m starting to get fed up of how so many things are over-priced, some things cost triple or quadruple the cost in comparison to the price it’s sold at in other countries. What’s worse is even some delivery services charge you in a manner that makes no sense at all.
I ordered 2 Egg Masters which cost KD 8 each. Once they arrived I researched their manufacturing cost (the ones I got turned out to be a Chinese knockoff from the original Rollie product) but the manufacturer never got back to me. Nevertheless, a quick search will tell you the average cost to manufacture one ranges from $6-$8.
So it costs around KD 2 to sell an Egg Master, while I paid 4 times that amount, a bit overpriced maybe? Next up was the delivery service, Delivery Express. The two Egg Masters arrived and the driver charged KD 20 which didn’t make sense to me since they told me delivery cost was KD 2.
2 Egg Masters = KD 16 + KD 2 = KD 18. After I managed to reach someone in charge he told me their system adds a delivery cost for every item. So even though the 2 Egg Masters arrived together in 1 delivery I paid for them as if they were delivered separately.
What they’re basically telling me is, their system is so terrible that I have to pay double the delivery charge, which is absurd; how is their system my problem? This also means if I order 9 Egg Masters I have to pay KD 18 for 1 delivery. It might cost me less in delivery cost if I shipped 9 Egg Masters from the U.S.
Update: The owner of Delivery Express got in touch to better explain the situation that happened. The guy I initially talked to misinformed me on how the system worked for that specific order. In some cases they make a fixed profit from every delivery (in this case it was KD 2). They had a deal with the store selling Egg Masters to get KD 2 of the total price for every item, so it should have been sold at KD 10 each and the guy who I talked to at the time should have avoided diving into details to avoid confusion.
If there was a report based on the laziest countries in the world, Kuwait would be somewhere on the top 5. We have our dishdasha’s delivered to us, our devices picked up from us to get fixed and our cars washed at home by a cleaning company. Now you don’t need to go buy fish from the supermarket, you can order it to be delivered to you.

Passed by Hamra Mall yesterday and noticed Wok N go opened up, it was there first day. This is the first time I try them and the food was pretty good. I ordered chicken with rice and vegetables, there was little chicken but that was fine. They will be starting delivery by next week. Waiting for more places to open at Hamra.
I had no idea KDD offered a delivery service until I received this big pack from them which had a variety of products they offered like baba ghanouj, hommos and olive oil. I also got a pack of “luxury yoghurt” but it wasn’t gold embedded. Will try it to see if there’s a difference. You can call and order any of their products (minimum charge KD 5)

I’ve stuck with Aramex through their ups and downs but no more. They’ve reached a new low in their services that I am not willing to put up with. Before I go on about what made me take this decision I’d like to first point out that all the details in the shipment I had issues with were accurate and lead to my address and no one else’s, attached paper with box below.
Everything in that paper that was attached to the box was correct, no excuses. My brother shipped me two packages from San Diego to Aramex in New York. They were together with the same details except when the package reached my house it was only one box. I called Aramex and the guy told me that the other box was shipped to Doha, Qatar to a guy named Mohammed Abdulla. The guy isn’t even close to my name to cause confusion to begin with.
If I hadn’t called Aramex the guy would have received the shipment which he never paid for and Aramex would move on like everything was fine. After a delay of 15 days while they got my shipment from Doha which was bad enough, they told me the shipment cost KD 11. When I went to Aramex to pick it up they decided it costed KD 16 instead. At that point I wasn’t even in the mood to argue. Won’t be tolerating their services any more.
I’ve already opened an account with PostaPlus and shipped something their way, will review them soon. If everything goes well I’ll be switching from Aramex to PostaPlus completely. If not, Borderlinx is still an option.
Update: Met up with Aramex and had a long talk, you can read about it [here]
Recently found out one of my favourite restaurants offers a lunch box that will surely make you full. The lunch box offer is mostly for those working, you can’t really order the lunch box and dine in. You get one meal, salad, dessert and a soda for 3.200KD(use to be 2.750KD). They have a variety of main meals and salads to pick from so it’s not a fixed lunch box.
