Since life is short, it’s things like this we can’t miss out on. Someone like Pizzetta should consider adding this to their menu. The guy who came up with the idea used canned spaghetti with meat balls as part of the toppings. I’d have to agree when he said “This is the best worst idea ever”. It’s sad to see Totally Fish go, I know many traditional see food lovers that are upset about this. The good news however is it will be split into two different stores. Pizza Express and Pinkberry will be taking its place in The Avenues Mall. This means there will be two Pinkberry’s a few meters apart from one another, the irony of yoghurt stores.
When you hear there’s pizza in Kuwait cooked the way pizza was originally cooked in Italy you can’t help but go have a bite. From what I heard about this place I was expecting my soul to depart my body with joy the moment I had a taste. Well that didn’t happen, the pizza was great but it wasn’t superb. I really admire the Kuwaiti’s who came up with the idea as the staff is currently 100% Kuwaiti.
The pizza remains in the oven for about a minute with a certain fixed temperature. It is then extracted and is ready to be served. The chef has a certificate obtained from Naples for making pizza. This is currently the only place in Kuwait with a seal of authenticity, by the “Vera Pizza Napoletana”. The store currently only opens from 6p.m to 11p.m. We came at around 8p.m before it got crowded.
My friend ordered the traditional Margherita. Though we really wanted to try a pepperoni but they said because it is on demand it will be coming soon. As you can tell this isn’t your normal margherita. This is actually what it is suppose to look like but thanks to Pizza Hut and Dominos we have a different understanding of what a margarita looks like.
I ordered the Special Mushroom pizza which isn’t available on the menu. To my surprise the pizza doesn’t come sliced, you eat it with a knife and fork. I don’t recommend eating the pizza that way as it gets aggravating sometimes. Just ask them to slice it for you. Each pizza costs 3.5KD which I found reasonable. It won’t completely fill your stomach but it’s good enough for a meal.
I’m the type of person that goes to a pizza restaurant and orders spaghetti. I couldn’t be any happier doing that in pizzetta as their spaghetti was nothing short of delicious. It might surprise you how many restaurants have a speciality in something yet are really good at everything else. This Spaghetti Bolognese is highly recommended.
You will surely see these Potato Chips on every table in the restaurant because it’s simply that good. If you try the chips without the sauce in all honestly it will taste awful. But somehow when the two are combined they are really good.
This is also a bolognese except it’s a Pizzetta Bolognese. Pizzetta’s come as appetizers and not main meals, so they will not fill your stomach like a main course. I really liked the thin crust bread, made the pizzetta really light.
This is a normal Pepperoni Pizza. As my friend doesn’t like trying something new and ending up unsatisfied, he likes staying on the safe side. Again the thin crust bread is amazing. The pizza is much lighter than one you would eat at Pizza Hut or Domino’s.
Overall the food tasted great. My only complain would be regarding the loud music. I don’t listen to music to begin with, and the bashing stereo keeps ruining my mood. So if you don’t mind load music this is where you get great food. You can also sit outside but summer is back and your pizza isn’t the only thing that’s going to get heated.
I see Hello Kitty is being onionful when it comes to pizza. And why would anyone possibly want to eat Sponge Bob Square Pants. A random guy decided to make cartoon characters off his pizza before he ate them. I’m not sure it tasted just as good but it certainly looked much better. I want a Darth Vader version, assumably loaded with olives.
The main reason I decided to make a review about Pizza Express, they make really good spaghetti. Which no one really bothered ordering since most people go their wanting pizza. I rarely order pizza in Pizza Express, not because they don’t taste good, but rather I really like their spaghetti bolognese. Their dessert isn’t bad either, I’ll sink into that at the end of the review. continue reading»
