In 2015, there were 30,000 sick leaves right after Eid and I was wondering back then if there was a sudden massive diarrhea virus spreading in Kuwait (sarcasm). This year it’s over 31,000 and I’m wondering if it’s related to fecal (feces) bacteria found in Starbucks’ Iced Coffee that’s making the internet go crazy, it’s not though, just bad ethics for some probably.
It appears there has been a huge portion of people who suddenly went sick coincidently for the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that are right after Eid. Who knows, maybe there was a massive diarrhea virus spreading in Kuwait, or everyone just decided they wanted to take the entire week off. More details [here].
Kuwait Times reported there were 2.86 million sick leaves during the fiscal year of 2011 – 2012. In total it costed the country a shocking KD 41,725,960. I could spend all day thinking of what I can do with that money, buying a few islands for starters. Heard there was a hospital in Manguf that sells sick leaves papers to prove to your company you were really sick.[Source]
